WELCOME TO
SelfHelpRecovery.net
August 2007
The purpose
of the Self Help Recovery website is to provide information about resources to aid in long-term
recovery from brain injury and other chronic illness.
Self Help Recovery
goes beyond medical issues that are the usual focus of resources directed to
case managers and caregivers. It may take 10-15 years or more to recover from
head injury and other catastrophic illness, and recovery will involve changes in
lifestyle for both patient and caregiver. Self Help Recovery provides resource
listings that address quality of life in the long-term recovery process:
Resources and activities based on the educational model.
Books,
articles and websites included in SelfHelpRecovery.net are based on expert
evaluations as well as referrals and recommendations made by users and consumers
of resources for long-term recovery.
Recommendations
for books, articles or websites should be sent to
selfhelprecovery@usa.net.
To
establish a reciprocal link, include up to 50 words of copy
describing your organization or website.
This website
as well as the work of Brain Injury Recovery is self-supported by
donations, advertising,
and commissions.
